Description

The Old testament's books of wisdom', less often commented than other biblical texts, are receiving attention once again at the beginning of the 21st century. Unfortunately ancient wisdom, that of the ancient near east which comprises the wisdom of Israel, disappeared before the Christian era. The Bible, which has conserved a written account of these testimonies (an almost unique example of this phenomenon in the history of humanity) allows us to access centuries of culture. Today, the educational virtues of these maxims, proverbs and reflections about man's existence on Earth are all the more striking as the threats of modernity loom.
